What do we look for at auditions?

How to read your audition:

To begin-

Please Slate. This is a theater term meaning to introduce yourself before you audition.

For our purposes when you are slating, please say your first and last name, and your pronouns (if you are comfortable sharing) and which excerpt from the script you are reading.

Next-

Perform your audition piece with clarity and expressiveness. Don't be afraid to look up from the paper if you can and try to be creative with your tone of voice and expressions on your face. You are allowed to move around the front part of the stage as you speak.

Finally-

Take a breath, you did great! Thank your audition panel (the grown-ups in the room) and head back to your seat.
