The building team make the team's robot builds for different events and competitions. They brainstorm ideas, sketch out dimensions, and build prototypes for a final result. The students work with many mentors to achieve their final goal of a finished product. They build problem solving, leadership, and team building skills.
The navigation team includes our programmers (coding team), electricians, and pneumatic plumbers. They all work together and closely with our fabrication team to accomplish robot goals. The team writes programs and codes for the robots to function. Examples include moving the wheels and drive train, motors, limit switches, encoders, servos, linear actuators, cameras and sensors. They also create code along the way for prototypes and to test motors and sensors.
FIRST robotics teams operate as a business. We have budgets, marketing plans, and outreach. The business team coordinates the travel, tracks budgets, and creates marketing materials and plans to boost the team and to inform our community about robotics and STEM.
