ALL 2024-2025 yearbooks were mailed to the
main address you had on file in Campus, in August.
The small volunteer yearbook student staff are just that: Volunteers
There is no formal yearbook class, editing class, nor professional designers on our team.
Students do the best they can to learn and look back on other yearbooks, and try to make the best of the new one each year. They rely heavily on student and coach/leadership to contribute the names, photos, and events throughout the year. This means that sometimes mistakes happen -
They are high school students doing their best, putting their hearts and hard work into yearbook everyday.
Please look over the following sections for answers to your concern or question. If you have continued questions or follow up, please reach out using the contact button at the bottom.
EMAIL MESSAGING FROM JOSTENS:
Jostens Company Emails: Jostens has a set number of emails that the company sends out to parents throughout the school year. If you wish to discontinue receiving these emails, you will need to unsubscribe from them via the Jostens unsubscribe link. We do not have control of these mailings.
If you unsubscribe from the Josten's emails, be careful to look in your SPAM folder for your Jostens.com yearbook order receipt.
COST:
Why does the yearbook cost so much money? The yearbook costs a lot of money to print. We keep yearbook costs as low as possible to allow for the most number of students to obtain one. If you compare our yearbook cost to other districts with the same size, layout, page count, cover style, and number of full color photos you will find that we are less expensive than most. Our yearbook is a hard cover, with over 200, full colored pages of memories.
If your child is unable to afford the cost of the yearbook, they can volunteer to be a part of the yearbook club and complete the required volunteer hours to obtain a free yearbook. Yearbooks start out at the lowest possible price (based on projected orders and shipping) and increase throughout the year to make up for the fewer yearbooks ordered. If we don't meet out order minimum, we actually lose money from yearbook funds to cover the under-order.
I can’t afford a photographer for my senior portrait. Every school year notifications go out through email to counselors and admin about events where your child may be eligible for a free senior photo. Our staff can take a quick photo at the school, or you can contact a counselor for advanced student photographers, who donate their time, to help those who cannot afford a senior portrait. We have a formal portrait studio in the school basement. You can also submit a photo you take yourself.
SENIOR INFO:
Senior Portraits: If you have a professional photographer take your senior's portrait, you can have them submit the photo (or you can) along with a photo release that gives us permission to print the image. Senior portraits are in a different section from the senior tribute advertisements (AKA baby photos), and are free to publish.
DUE AT THE END OF MARCH.
Senior Tribute Advertisements: It costs money to add pages to the yearbook that are beyond the AAA and student images that are provided under the initial cost. Because we cannot estimate the number of senior tribute advertisements (AKA baby photos) to add into this total, it would increase the cost to everyone, not just the seniors who posted a tribute advertisement. Josten's charges a fee based on what it would cost us to add the page, divided by the space your tribute takes up. In moving this task to Jostens yearbook company, they are able to more efficiently work with you to complete the senior tribute advertisements moving forward.
DUE AT THE END OF FEBRUARY.
DELIVERY TIME AND LOCATION:
Why doesn't the yearbook get delivered at the end of the school year? Our school is unique in that we have a lot of important events and spring sports that occur February through May. In order to get these events into the yearbook, we have to publish our yearbook in the summer, following the school year. If we opted to publish our yearbook for end of year pick up it would be missing all events from February 1st onward. Spring sports and clubs, graduation Sr. day, and prom events would all be absent. Student feedback has been overwhelmingly positive in keeping these events included in the yearbook.
ALL yearbooks will be mailed to the main address you have in Campus
2024-2025 Yearbooks were mailed out in August.
If you did not receive your yearbook, bring the email receipt
from Jostens to the main office.
What happens if I move over the summer, or my mailing address was not updated? If you move, be sure to register a forwarding address with the USPS. If one or more of your family members remain at the address listed in Campus, it is your responsibility to schedule a pick time at that address for the yearbook.
If it is undeliverable, your child's yearbook should be returned to RHS in September via USPS. Once we receive the book we will contact you for pick up in our main office. We do not offer second mailings of yearbooks due to high postal cost.
DID I ORDER A 2024-2025 YEARBOOK FOR MY CHILD (updated June 1, 2025)
Check our sales list here. Orders are by last name only.
ORDERING A PAST YEARBOOK (2023-2024 or earlier):
ALL 2023-2024 yearbooks were delivered to students in September 2024. If your child ordered a yearbook but did not received it, they will need to bring a copy of the Josten's emailed receipt to Cathy Gores in the main office to receive a yearbook. She has a list of paid for yearbooks that she can match to your receipt. There are NO EXTRA 2023-2024 yearbooks remaining.
A very limited number of yearbooks are available for purchase from previous years (2022 and back). The cost is $100 (cash), and can be paid/picked up at the RHS front office. Please contact and ask for Cathy Gores, at the RHS front office, regarding purchasing a previous yearbook (651) 423-7501 to see if a previous yearbook is in stock, and when you are able to come and pick it up. Delivery is not available due to the weight of the yearbook.
NAME INCORRECT OR NOT LISTED; WRONG RETAKE IMAGE: With over 2500 students and staff at RHS, we work hard to get everyone’s name where it should be in the yearbook. Some appear multiple times, throughout the book. With our small team of volunteers we would love to be able to say we know each student personally, but we simply do not.
We work to avoid spelling errors and missing students on teams and groups by asking for names to come directly from the coaches, teachers, and photographers. We copy and paste what they send us, directly into the yearbook. We do not type out or change name spellings that come to us from these sources. If you have further concerns on this, please reach out to their coach/team leader.
The default name: We use the student's legal name, as posted in Campus. We have many students who go by nicknames, preferred names, and friend names. Because students can show up multiple times throughout the yearbook, we do not take individual requests to change names in the yearbook to any name other than the one provided to us from coaches, Campus registration, or photographers.
We send numerous reminders and requests to students, staff, and coaches via email throughout the school year and at staff meetings to try to obtain names to go alongside the club, sports, and activity photos. When we do not get a response by a deadline we use the alphabetical list available to us from administration, when available. Again, copied and pasted. If no rosters or photos have been delivered to us, there may not be a name or image for that club, team, or activity.
Freshmen, Sophomore, and Junior LifeTouch images are sent to us from the company and we are allowed to use them free of charge. This means they send us what they send us, and do not know if it will include your retake or original image. If your child was not present for school photos or retakes, then they will not appear in their grade level portrait section. This may include transfer students and non-photographed students. We are unable to edit these images as they flow through as a single unit of images. Only senior photos are able to be edited (see flow order limits on senior photos).
SENIOR TRIBUTES/ADVERTISEMENTS DUE END OF FEBRUARY
All senior tributes (Josten's calls them senior advertisements) will be designed and submitted online through Josten’s website by families/parents of students. Parents will be responsible for uploading their images, messages, and layout, as well as the fee attributed to cover the cost of the additional pages the senior tributes take during publication. Please watch for the online emails and reminders about the deadlines for these tributes. They cannot be added after the deadline has passed.
If your tribute was considered to be non-family friendly (including photo with gestures or wording) an attempt was made to reach you regarding the necessary changes. If you did not respond to Jostens, your tribute was not placed in the yearbook. Jostens reserves the right to edit and/or deny the use of photos which do not meet family friendly, ethical, or socially responsible etiquette.
Senior Photos DUE END OF MARCH: when you take a photo of your senior for their graduation year, you can submit them to the yearbook via a google form. Please make sure you have photographer permissions to publish in the yearbook. By submitting the image you have stated that the image is clear of copyright violations and usage charges. Anyone not submitting a senior photo will default to their LifeTouch school image, taken for their ID card. If no image is available, students names will be listed as "Photo Shy" at the end of the senior sections.
MY STUDENT'S PHOTO WAS NOT INCLUDED IN THE GRADE LEVEL/TEAM IMAGES:
We do not have control over what photos are sent to us from professional photographers, for photos of students for grade level photos (ID pictures/LifeTouch), nor sport and activity group photos. If your child was absent the day of the team photo or for LifeTouch Or Bauer Photography - Valley Images portraits, we do not have the editing ability to add them in. Coaches and Team Leaders are responsible for naming those not present. Please contact your team coach or team leader to give feedback.
All candid photos are taken by volunteer yearbook students, staff, and parents as they are able to work the club and team sports into their busy academic schedule and personal life. Again, they are volunteers and not professionals, so if the photo is a little out of focus, or someone got cut off on the edge it was not on purpose. They are doing their best.
We look carefully through each image to look for signals, signs, or oopsies that we don’t meet our family-friendly requirements. We may have to erase, crop, and/or edit to meet these requirements.
We ask administrators to go through the list of non-photo students and ask permission or clarify whether or not they can be in the yearbook. Many parents don't realize if they sign the non-release policy that their child cannot be individually or team photographed for the yearbook. Please speak to an administrator if you want your child's photo in the yearbook (in the future) and you have signed a non-release privacy form. Administration reaches out each year to confirm this choice.
