I love sweet little reminders of friendship. The little rabbit figure was given to me by a dear friend from his travels to Oaxaca, Mexico. It has been in our classroom. I brought it home to remind me of the gift of friendship and all of you.

This photo is of my favorite place on earth. It's here to remind us of that carefree feeling of summer, and of the simple beauty of nature. Remember to spend some time outside whenever possible!
I know a lot of people are worried about a lot of things these days. This poem by Shel Silverstein, in his book "A Light in the Attic" reminds me of times when I start to worry. When that happens, I take a deep breath, focus on the present moment and the things I'm grateful for, and shoo away the Whatifs!

Last night, while I lay thinking here,some Whatifs crawled inside my earand pranced and partied all night longand sang their same old Whatif song:Whatif I'm dumb in school?Whatif they've closed the swimming pool?Whatif I get beat up?Whatif there's poison in my cup?Whatif I start to cry?Whatif I get sick and die?Whatif I flunk that test?Whatif green hair grows on my chest?Whatif nobody likes me?Whatif a bolt of lightning strikes me?Whatif I don't grow taller?Whatif my head starts getting smaller?Whatif the fish don't bite?Whatif the wind tears up my kit?Whatif they start a war?Whatif my parents get divorced?Whatif the bus is late?Whatif my teeth don't grow in straight?Whatif I tear my pants?Whatif I never learn to dance?Everything seems well, and thenthe nighttime Whatifs strike again!
