Dear Students,
Times like these are great for journaling. Journaling is not an assignment, but rather an invitation. If possible, use a notebook that is solely for the purpose of journaling. You may use a pencil or pen. If you have crayons, colored pens or pencils, you may wish to add color illustrations. Journaling is best done in a quiet space. You should include the date on each page. You may choose to share these entries with someone or not.
Love,
Ms. Wakefield
Journal prompts
Day 1 - If you were a superhero, what would your hero name be? What would you be best known for? How would you use your super powers?
Day 2 - What is the most important thing to carry with you all the time? Write about it, and why it's important to you.
Day 3 - Who do you turn to when you need moral or emotional support? What is it about that person that allows you to know you can turn to them?
Day 4 - Write about a time when you were at your lowest. What / who helped you out of that place? What lessons did you learn from that experience?
Day 5 - Write about things that make you laugh. What is it about those things, or times that bring out humor?

Doing an a cappella rendition of a song with no words is quite a flex. Here's Pentatonix's version of Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy – which I'd say is the second creepiest Christmas song after Carol of the Bells (and that's the live Trans Siberian Orchestra version – the perfect way to close out the last four minutes before break! Turn it up! 🤘).

Dear students and parents,
The Dyson Foundation has provided a wide range of Science and Engineering Activities to try at home. Most of these require the help of an adult. Please be sure to share if you've tried these at home! Take a picture or short video and I will post them to our student gallery.
