Video Game Epidemic!

By Colton Bost

Do you still play video games? If you play video games read this. Video games are declining rapidly, because they are just getting old, and no one really finds them interesting anymore. Some of the biggest video games are falling off very badly. For example, games like Roblox, Minecraft, Fortnite, and Call Of Duty (COD). Those games were the biggest and now Fortnite only has about 12 million people that still play monthly. You may think that's a lot but last year it was up to 110 million people monthly players. Roblox only has 20 million players daily. A year ago it would have been about 100 million daily players, it was such a big game, that they all were, and now no matter what they do they can’t be a big game again. A lot of games went from not a lot of action to people playing their games multiple times a day. Some reasons these games are getting better are because they are brand new and different from what we’re used to, also graphics are very important. When someone sees good graphics it draws their attention to want to play. The story line of the game is also very important, it either makes the game a lot better, or a lot worse, depending on your opinion. No video game is really good or bad, they're all really just opinion based. One really important thing you should think about before playing video games is how much you play them. Do not let video games take over your brain if you really need to set like a one hour timer and then when it goes off get off of the game and take a break. Overall I think video games are fun, they are just addicting so be careful!
