Convention Invention
Convention Invention is a team of 2 to 4 students that will present an original invention. The team will develop an invention that falls into the categories of consumer products, electronics and sensors, or sustainable technologies and bring to the convention to share with others. The design for the invention must be complete prior to the convention. Create and Animate
Create and Animate is a team of 2 to 4 students that will create a high-quality, well-designed digital animation to be shared on a web-based platform. They are required to come up with an idea for an animation and create the animation before the convention takes place so that they can bring it to the convention to share with others. Meeting of the Minds
Meeting of the Minds is a team consisting of four individuals competing in an On-site event. When we arrive at the National Convention Center, you will be given a prompt that requires you to use abstract and critical thinking skills. Materials will be provided for you, however. These designs will be displayed in the Exhibit, and you will be required to fulfill one extra challenge once your project is displayed. Reimagine, Recreate, and Recycle
This event is where teams of 3-5 students compete with 100 other schools to create mode of transportation using only recyclable materials (plastic bottle, bottle caps, cardboard, etc). This invention will be displayed at an exhibition, but must be created prior to the National Convention. Also, when you arrive at the National Convention, you will be given a task to complete On-site the convention center to display along with you recyclable invention. Project Proposal (Continuation from Leadership Summit)
The project proposal at nationals is a chance for those who attended the leadership summit to present their service idea. This event is done before nationals and requires a presentation of 3-5 students who have created a poster and slideshow of their ideas. Lead Outside the Box
Lead outside the box is an on-site event that will begin once the convention starts. Upon arrival, a team will be given a real-world problem and they must create a two-minute presentation to demonstrate their solution. They must consider several aspects and with a group of 4 people max present it to a panel of judges.
