To be invited to join CMHS Beta Club students must:
Be in 9th grade or above
Hold a 3.5 weighted GPA
Be in good academic and disciplinary standing
Existing Beta Club members must:
Keep a 3.5 weighted GPA
Uphold the values of Beta Club
Complete 25 hours of Service
15 hours in school (beta hosted) events
10 outside volunteer hours

The purpose of the National Beta Club shall be to promote the ideals of character, service, academic achievement, and leadership among secondary school students, to reward meritorious achievement and to encourage and assist students in continuing their education after high school.
The National Beta Club, a student-centered organization, continually develops and nurtures individuals by providing opportunities and experiences enabling them to demonstrate the ideals of character, achievement, service and leadership in a global community.
Founded by Dr. John West Harris in 1934, it started at Landrum High School, South Carolina with 15 members. Since then, it has grown to over 500,000 members each year all across the globe. Dr. John West Harris graduated from Wofford College with a bachelors and masters degree and from UNC with a Ph.D. along with a year at Columbia University Law School.
