My name is Mary Smith and I love teaching music here at Antwerp Local Schools! I am honored to have your student in my classroom and it is my passion to give your student the tools he/she needs to be successful while they sing, dance, say and play in a variety of musical ways.

My Background:

Raised in Berne, Indiana, I was blessed to be in a musical community that valued the arts. This became such a huge influence on my passion and knowledge in this area. I graduated from Anderson University, Anderson, Indiana with a major in K-12 Music Education. I then became a music teacher at Bluffton Exempted Village Schools in Bluffton, Ohio where I taught for 10 years. When my husband changed jobs, I moved to Indiana and worked for East Allen County Schools for 3 years. I was thrilled to become a teacher at Antwerp Local Schools in 2007 and have enjoyed teaching here ever since.

My Family:

I am married to a musician! My husband, Sam, works at Reboot Technology & Consulting. He is also highly skilled in the technical arts. We have two daughters, Kirsi and Kortney. Both girls graduated from Antwerp Local Schools. Kirsi is currently a music teacher at Lafayette School Corporation while Kortney is a nurse at Parkview North.
