Second graders participate in standardized testing during the month of October.  

ITBS and CogAT are  both standardized tests used to identify each student's strengths and weaknesses in content areas as well as basic skills.  The scores from these two tests are used to identify students for the academically gifted program.  

It is very important that students are present and on time during the tests.  

The testing schedule is as follows: 

ITBS Reading -  October 7th

ITBS Math - October 8th

CogAT Verbal - October 13th

CogAT Quantitative - October 14th

CogAT Nonverbal - October 15th

Student should go to bed early (no later than 8:30, if possible.)  

Students should also eat a good breakfast that is low in sugar.  

Parents please take time to discuss testing with your child.  Students should be aware of the importance of listening and following directions. They should not be nervous or afraid.  This is their time to shine!!
