On behalf of the Emergent Bilingual Department, I am excited to welcome you to a new school year! 

Each year brings fresh opportunities to inspire, support, and guide our students as they continue their educational journey. We are grateful for your dedication and the positive impact you make in the lives of our learners every day.

Education is one of the most powerful tools we have to shape lives, and your work has a lasting impact. In our district, the majority of our students are emergent bilinguals—students who bring with them diverse languages, cultures, and perspectives. By providing intentional language development opportunities, implementing effective instructional strategies, and honoring their cultural and linguistic backgrounds, we not only support their academic success but also empower them to thrive in a multicultural world.

Our department offers professional development sessions throughout the year, and we created this website to provide teachers, students, and parents with resources, guidance, and helpful information. It is designed to serve as a year-round support system for your work with emergent bilingual students.

In addition, I will also publish monthly Emergent Bilingual Newsletters here on our site (under the “EB Goodies” tab. These newsletters will feature valuable resources, important information, and updates to help you stay connected and supported throughout the year.

As someone who began my career in the classroom, I know firsthand the challenges, commitments, and incredible rewards that come with teaching. It is truly a calling, and I admire the passion and dedication teachers bring to students every single day. Please know that my team and I are here to support you, and together, we can make this a year of growth and success for all our learners.
