Return to Learn
Last week, September 17, the TEA Commissioner provided an update that school districts are no longer required to offer home-based learning. The reasoning behind this decision is to move toward all students returning to on-campus learning. We all know that face-to-face instruction and support by our professional teachers is the best place for all students. APISD does not wish to remove all access to home-based learning at this time to ensure we still provide the safest environment for special circumstances. Therefore, any request to move to campus-based learning will be approved and the student will be able to begin on the date provided upon confirmation from the campus administration.
Once campus-based, any request to move to home-based instruction will require a scheduled meeting with campus administration to discuss the medical reasons for this request. If all parties agree this is the best placement, the request will be granted.
We look forward to all of our students returning to our campuses as soon as possible. We continue to provide the safest environments possible as we look toward this pandemic ending.
