What to Wear 

Presenting to a camera poses a couple of issues not found in a live presentation. Here are some things that work and some that do not. 

• Men generally present in suits with a tie and women in blouses with jackets. 

• Color and contrast is good – to a point. Solid shades of blue or gray work well. If black and white clothing colors contrast sharply with your skin tone, you may want to consider colors that contrast less. 

• Do not dress in colors that are the same as your skin and hair tone. 

• Some colors do not appear the same on camera as in a natural setting. You should avoid wearing bright red, orange or green. These work for a small accent but not as a jacket, blouse or shirt. 

• Avoid thin stripes, tiny checks, herringbone and other detailed line patterns that may cause the moiré effect. 

• Avoid too much white, white jackets, or white blouses without a jacket. White causes hot spots on the screen. 

• Avoid accessories such as large necklaces, pins or other jewelry in excess of one inch in length. These can cause glares or interfere with the microphone that will be clipped on your jacket or blouse. 

• Light color suits can be a nice variation from the standard corporate blue. 

• Avoid wearing any shade of green due to the use of green screen.

Makeup – use normal daytime makeup.
