Honoring Those Who Serve as our Second Parents
By Zion Akio Marco
Teachers play a pivotal role in shaping the lives and futures of students. They are not just educators; they are the guiding figures who help students navigate the challenges of life, inspiring them to develop essential skills like problem-solving, critical thinking, and perseverance. Often referred to as "second parents," teachers dedicate themselves to nurturing and guiding their students, preparing them for the future in ways that extend beyond the classroom.
Teachers provide the knowledge that strengthens students’ futures and inspires them to work hard. Their dedication goes far beyond simply delivering lessons—they empower students to face the complexities of life with confidence and determination. Their impact on students is immeasurable, and it is only fitting that we take the time to appreciate their tireless efforts. That is why Teacher’s Day, celebrated every October 5th, honors the teachers worldwide who make such an incredible difference in our lives.
At APEC Schools, Bacoor, the celebration of Teacher’s Day was marked by a series of heartfelt gestures and surprises. The Amplify team organized a thoughtful initiative where students could express their gratitude by writing appreciation letters. These letters were placed in boxes labeled with the names and photos of the Learning Facilitators (LFs) from both Senior and Junior High School. In addition to the letters, students went the extra mile by giving personal gifts, pastries, and flowers—acts of kindness that brightened the day of their educators.
The celebration didn’t end with the boxes. On social media, students shared creative tributes to their advisers, with some even illustrating portraits of their teachers, surprising them with thoughtful gestures and making this Teacher’s Day an unforgettable one. The bonds formed between the LFs and students will remain cherished memories for everyone involved.
This Teacher’s Day was more than just a celebration; it was a heartfelt reminder of the invaluable role that educators play in our lives. The connections built with LFs and the memories created on this special day will continue to inspire both students and teachers long after the celebration has ended.
