Pledging Commitment: Highlights from the Student Council Oath-Taking Ceremony

By Rheily Tiangco

In a significant moment of leadership and commitment, the Student Council and Batch Representatives of A.Y 2024-2025 and batch representatives gathered at NTC-APEC Schools Bacoor on September 14, 2024, to pledge their dedication to their roles within the school community. This event marked the official start of their responsibilities for the school year, signifying their commitment to excellence and service as role models. With open hearts and open minds, they vowed to listen to and address the concerns of their fellow students.

The ceremony commenced with an introduction of the SC members, followed by an opening speech from the president, setting the tone for the day. The event's highlight was the formal pledge of the student leaders, solidifying their role as student body representatives.

Alongside the formalities, fun and engaging "get-to-know-you" (GTKY) activities were designed to foster camaraderie and collaboration. The first game, "Line Up," divided participants into two groups, challenging their ability to communicate and work together quickly. It was a lively and competitive start, allowing everyone to bond while learning more about each other. The second game, "Whose Story Is It?" tested memory and storytelling skills, where one group member shared a story, and the other group had to guess who it belonged to. This activity was delightful for returning batch representatives, bringing back memories and encouraging collaboration.

The program began familiarizing the batch representatives with their responsibilities, covering dismissal routines, flag ceremonies, and upcoming events. A Q&A session followed, where the batch reps were asked questions about their academic journeys and personal experiences, thus deepening their understanding of their roles. The event was topped off with encouragement and advice from the SC members, motivating the batch representatives as they began their leadership journey. At the same time, the club officers joined as the audience, reinforcing the school’s collaborative spirit.

The event concluded with the solemn recitation of the Student Council oath, sealing the batch representatives' commitment to serve and lead their peers effectively. This day established their roles and served as a foundation for making NTC-APEC Schools Bacoor a better and more inclusive community for everyone.
