Marea has been employed by the SEA Trust since 2018 as the Administrator. In this role she supports the trustees in managing the trust’s communications and finances. In 2020, Marea also took on the Coordinator role in which she managed the in-water programme for the students on Aotea, building and retaining the vital volunteers who are an integral part of our programmes.

After the trust gained some funding from WWF-NZ, Marea designed and implemented an action-based, student led marine conservation programme for all three schools on island, namely Te Kura o Okiwi, Kaitoke School and Mulberry Grove School. Currently, the trust is looking to fulfil the Coordinator role for the summer ahead.
