NEW: Wednesday 29 March - PPTA strike!
Following consultation and feedback, MCPA has arrived at the following rules regarding team eligibility/ selection for the league:
Team categories:
SCHOOL TEAM - ALL players from a single school
COMPOSITE TEAM - two schools (at least 2 players from each school)
COMBINED TEAM - more than 2 schools (no more than 3 players from any single school).
MCPA will endeavour to ensure long term team continuity for players in combined teams, while encouraging their schools to recruit full teams.
Where possible, students MUST play for their own school. If there are insufficient players to form a single-school team, composite teams SHOULD be formed. If it is not possible for a student to play for a school or composite team, they MAY join a combined team.
The league organiser MAY allow minor variations to individual players, where this would clearly be in the best interests of the overall league. Appeals regarding player eligibility should be made initially to the league organiser, and subsequently to MCPA committee. Any variations will be published for all league teams.
Team lists:
Each team will be required to submit a list of players, including their age, year level and school of enrollment BEFORE the league starts. Any variations to the team list must be notified to the league organiser.
Replacement players:
Once team lists are finalised:
If a team is missing player(s) on a particular week, they may bring in substitute player(s) from a lower grade team from the same school.
If a team does not have at least 4 players, the game will be recorded as a default, but may still proceed as a ‘friendly’ game.
