My artwork embodies antiracism and student success by exploring universal connection through the lens of yogic spirituality and indigenous shamanic wisdom. By integrating these themes onto surfboards and skateboards—functional pieces that enable movement and progress—I symbolize forward motion, resilience, and interconnectedness. My work invites viewers to embrace diverse cultural teachings, break down barriers, and find unity in the flow of life.

For this series, I made my art with skateboards and I kept the trucks and wheels on them to signify the ability to move forward toward student success. I chose to represent themes of racial equity in my artwork, and used acrylic paint with epoxy resin to cover over them. I hope to transition from painting skateboards into painting surfboards next!
