Engagement within the AW Online Academy courses:

If a student stops working in one or more courses, the system will flag the student as Partially Disengaged. If a student stops working in all of his/her/their courses, they are flagged as Fully Disengaged.

We run a report of the students who are Fully Disengaged each Thursday afternoon. Students who show as Fully Disengaged will be marked absent that week in PowerSchool.

K-6: Will be marked absent for Monday - Thursday (for Friday attendance, see below)

7-12: Will be marked absent for Monday - Friday

(K-6 only) Specials Log:

Students are to log 5 hours in any or all of the following areas:

• (suggested 1 hour) Physical Education: Activities such as going on a walk, bike ride, doing yoga or other exercise video, participating in Go Noodle, a team activity, playing outside, etc.

• (suggested 1 hour) Art: Activities such as drawing, painting, crafting, sewing, chalk murals, clay, etc.

• (suggested 1 hour) Music: Activities such as drama lessons, music classes, dance, vocal lessons, singing, etc.

• (suggested 2 hours) Other: Activities such as silent reading, Accelerated Reader, STEAM activities, Boy or Girl Scouts, Woodworking, building, etc

(K-6) Special Log is due each Thursday by 12:59 pm.

Completion of the 5 required Specials Hours will count for attendance on Friday of that week.

The first log is due Thursday, October 1st, 2020.
