Course Description
This course will give students a working understanding of physics both in theory and practice. It will introduce measurement, estimating, and Newtonian mechanics. Topics include kinematics and dynamics, translational motion, vectors, circular motion, gravitation, work, energy, power, momentum, rotational motion, waves, and sound.
Classroom Expectations
Students in this class will be expected to conduct themselves in a mature and appropriate manor. I will give respect to each student and expect it to be reciprocated. The classroom will be a safe learning environment for scientific investigation. Students are expected to treat others with the same respect they show me. Disrespect will be handled swiftly and absolutely. Should there be frequent classroom disruptions, discipline will be conducted as follows:
First Offense: Classroom redirection
Second Offense: Redirection and private discussion
Third Offense: Private Discussion and parent phone call
Fourth Offense: Office Referral

1 Pack of Pencils
1 Pack of Expo Markers
1 Spiral Notebook
*TI 84 Plus Graphic Calculator (This is optional but recommended to help students at home. They will be provided a graphing calculator while at school.)
