Course Description
This course will give students a working understanding of chemistry both in theory and practice. It will familiarize students with nomenclature used by chemists, basic structure of the atom and its subatomic particles, basic principles of mass balance, chemical bonds, and how chemical reactivity regulates the world in which we live. This class will also allow students to master solving problems that involve the integration of a range of measurements including mass, distance, time, and energy hidden within a narrative.
Classroom Expectations
Students in this class will be expected to conduct themselves in a mature and appropriate manor. We will be dealing with dangerous chemicals and students will be expected to follow strict instructions. I will give respect to each student and expect it to be reciprocated. The classroom will be a safe learning environment for scientific investigation. Students are expected to treat others with the same respect they show me.
