GUIDELINES FOR ANSON ADVANTAGE
The Anson Advantage provides financial assistance to qualifying legal residents of
Anson County seeking courses through Career In A Year and/or
curriculum Associate/Diploma/Certificate programs.
Career In A Year courses include short-term training, leading to employment.
Curriculum programs include Associate degrees, Diplomas, or Certificates.
Check the brochure for courses covered under Anson Advantage.
(Note: Anson Advantage funds will not cover the cost of personal interest classes or
self-supporting classes.)
Interested Anson County residents should adhere to the following guidelines:
Must be a legal resident of Anson County. Proof of physical Anson County residence is required. Examples of proof include documents showing a physical address rather than a Post Office Box number, such as: Driver’s License, Utility Bill, Property Tax statements, etc.
Must apply for federal financial aid through the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). Funding from federal and state grants, scholarships, and outside funding must be exhausted before Anson Advantage funds will apply. Eligible aid shall be awarded in this order.
Anson Advantage funds will cover the cost of tuition, fees, books, and associated supplies for the chosen course(s) or program of study.
Must pass all courses and must progress in chosen program/course. Students not progressing or passing their course(s) may not qualify for future funding from Anson Advantage. If a student no longer is eligible to receive funds from Anson Advantage, the student may file an appeal with the Vice President of Student Services.
