Club Courage, formerly Rainbows, is a six-week support group offered twice a year for children and teens grades kindergarten – 12th, who have experienced a loss. Children participate in activities that promote self-esteem, encourage self-healing and provide an outlet for unexpressed emotions. The supportive environment helps each child develop healthy coping skills through a variety of grief exercises.
Club Courage is the only program in this area that provides children with the opportunity to receive special attention while learning to cope with loss through death, divorce, separation, deployment, incarceration or other painful transition.
An adult group for parents and guardians meet at the same time; participation is encouraged but not mandatory.
