As a media specialist and technology coach, I promise to always do my research to make sure that the tech tools adhere to effective standards. On this page, I will share sound researched methods and strategies that serve as a foundation for the decisions I make and the help that I give.
As an edtech leader, I will strive to use the COVA model because it is a lot like project-based learning where students have voice and choice. Having seen the ownership and productivity that comes from this type of personalized yet collaborative learning has made me realize how valuable authentic learning can be for students. So because I have experience with teaching this way, it of course appeals to me as I have seen such success in implementing it.
I see technology integration as an instructional strategy. In my eyes, instructional strategies have been embellished and have gotten more engaging by way of tech integration. But with new technology tools being invented and introduced so frequently, how does one know which apps and resources are most effective? This is where SAMR model is important. As a technology leader, I want to work with instructional coaches and curriculum directors to identify the needs of teachers when it comes to instructional techniques. Then I will use the SAMR model to evaluate any new technology tools that could possibly serve to meet the needs identified.
As an educational technology leader, I will let the ISTE standards serve as a guide to help me lead educators and educational leaders to transform and redesign schools, learning spaces, and classrooms for innovative digital learning no matter where they fall in their practices of meaningful, effective ed tech integration. As a technology leader, with visionary leadership, my goal is to stay current in my own professional growth so that I can best train educators in the most effective practices for educational technology integration which will enable them to create a digital learning environment that is effective and promotes digital citizenship.
