Show Choir Placements have been released
It has been a wonderful two weeks of choir auditions! It is always so incredible to see the growth these kids have had over the course of a year. We are super proud of them, and hope they feel proud of themselves too!
This week, we gathered as a team of 8-12 directors to build the curricular choir rosters for 2025-2026. Our guiding principle is to ensure students are placed in an ensemble that will support their learning and growth for the following year, and we are confident we have done that. We also believe that for students to experience the most amount of growth, they need to be included in as much of the process as possible. We encourage students to seek feedback by setting up a meeting with one of the directors that was part of their audition.
Here are some guidelines for the process:
Please be a kind human regardless of how you feel.
Please remember that no student's place was at the direction of one individual teacher. We all collaborate in the process, and respect each other's professional assessment and evaluation skills.
Please do not reach out to directors over the weekend. We will all have our email notifications turned off and we will not respond until Monday. The only exception is if you do not see your name on ANY list after triple checking them all.
We will not discuss a student's audition over email or without the student present. Parents, if you'd like to meet with us please find a time that works for you AND your student to sit down with us together.
We will not respond to any messages over Remind, so please use email for all communication.
We will not discuss another student's audition or group placement.
Please remember that curricular choir auditions and show choir auditions are separate for a reason. More info about show choir auditions will come out on Monday!
We also wanted to update you on teaching assignments as we transition to next year! They are as follows:
Bass Clef Choir - Mr. Edgeton
Concert Choir - Mrs. Edgeton
Mixed Choir - Mr. Edgeton
Treble Clef Choir - Mrs. Hoshaw
Thank you for all you do to support Centennial Choral Music, and most importantly, to support your student!
Respectfully,
Mrs. Edgeton, Mrs. Hoshaw, Mr. Becker, Mr. Anderson and Ms. Thomas
