Assessment is integral to all teaching and learning, it is accurate, rigorous and systematic. High quality practice in assessment is the single most effective factor in supporting student success. Through building assessment into the planning and teaching process across all sections of the school and in accordance with the principles and practice of the three IB programmes we aim to develop assessment capable learners and teachers. Through high quality assessment and by taking into consideration learner variability, all students will be appropriately challenged. By applying rigorous assessment processes consistently, we help children develop a clear understanding of where they are in their learning, what they need to do in order to progress and the expectations of learning as they move through the school.Â

Assessment is an ongoing process of gathering, analysing, reflecting and acting on evidence of student learning to inform teaching.
Assessment involves teachers and students collaborating to monitor, document, measure, report and adjust learning.
Students actively engage in assessing and reflecting on their learning, acting on feedback from peers and teachers to feed forward to next steps in learning.
Fostering an assessment culture involves the development of assessment capability among all members of the learning community.
