A common human fear is losing control – being helpless. Technology is often a tool to gain control over our circumstances and environment. However, this control may often be an illusion, as in the book, Jurassic Park, by Michael Crichton (1990). Because of humanity’s realistic lack of control in technological and genetic advances, ethical concerns often arise, along with differing perspectives on political and moral culture as portrayed in varying forms of media.
