To begin teaching someone something, you must first have a strong understanding of the topic yourself. For me, that's soccer. To teach soccer I would first begin with simple instructions on fundamental skills and tactics. Then I would demonstrate myself to show the students how it should be done. Then, I would give them additional time to try it themselves. At this point, it is important to observe and note the pros and cons to the drill. What is working and what isn't? Also keep you eye open for anyone who needs additional help. To be specific. The very first drill would be a simple passing drill for a few reasons. Firstly I would want the students to get to know each other. Secondly, I would use this drill as a way to gauge the level of the players and adjust if needed.
