Middle School BOC Presentaion.pptxA well-rounded education includes participation in a performance ensemble, and Andover Public Schools offers exciting opportunities through our Band, Chorus, and Orchestra programs. These groups provide a vital entryway and built-in social community for sixth graders transitioning to middle school. These groups are a lot of fun and have academic and social-emotional benefits. Band, Orchestra, and Choral classes meet twice a week during the school day. We welcome and strongly encourage players and singers of all levels, abilities, and interests. Most sixth graders participate in one of these ensembles to ensure a balanced academic schedule and experience the incredible benefits of music education. After School Opportunties
Dear Parent/Guardian of Incoming 6th Graders,
We are pleased to announce that incoming 6th grade students are now able to complete their World Language and Band/Orchestra/Chorus course selection requests online.
Below are instructions for your student to access their account. Please note, requests can only be accessed through the student's account. Online course requests will only be accepted from May 5, 2025, to May 31, 2025, and will be time stamped upon receipt. In addition, you will need to submit the MS Course Request Verification Form no later than May 31st, 2025.
To access the MS Course Request:
• Have the student launch their browser to APS ClassLink: https://launchpad.classlink.com/aps1 and login by clicking on: Sign in with Microsoft. (Students will log in with their @student.andoverma.us email and password)
• In the ClassLink dashboard, click on the “Follett Aspen’ icon.
• Click on the 'My Info' tab (top of screen) and then click on the 'Requests' tab (left side of screen).
• Requests side tab: Students use this section to complete course requests for the following:
World Language: Grade 6 students must select either Spanish or French. We will make every effort to place students in their first choice; however, limitations in staffing or scheduling may require us to place some students in their second choice.
Band, Chorus, or Orchestra: (Grade 6 – strongly encouraged, but not required)
Once you have completed the selections for all your classes, please finish the process as follows:
• Click on the 'Post' button (lower Left) to submit your request online
• Print/Run a copy of the 'Student Course Request Form MS'.
• With your child, review the Student Course Request Form.
• After you have reviewed the requests, please complete the MS Course Request Verification form by clicking on the link at the bottom of the report.
Make sure you submit the MS Course Request Verification Form no later than Saturday, May 31st, 2025.
