Once a year, all 8th grade students will meet with the school counselor for their IGP, or Individualized Graduation Plan, Conference. Parents, you will be invited to your child's IGP conference, and we encourage you to attend. This is an important time in your child's life, as we guide him/her to start thinking about their future educational and career goals. This time will be used to discuss high school graduation requirements, post high school plans, 9th grade courses, and career clusters.
Individual Graduation Plan meetings take place at Southwood in December and January. The IGP plan will be visited every year until graduation and at that point you will have a plan for what you will do after High School. It might be a technical training school, military, a 2 or 4 year college or straight into the world of work.
