Technology is not a foreign concept to today's student. They use it everyday to learn, collaborate, share, and play. It's important that we teach and model how to use technology in a responsible way. Digital Citizenship is about knowing right from wrong and making good choices when online. According to the blog post 5 Reasons to Teach Digital Citizenship in the Classroom from Go Guardian, "Teaching digital citizenship equips students with the knowledge, skills, and resources to succeed as lifetime learners. This also helps them learn to engage within a digital environment with responsibility and confidence to develop as leaders who will leave meaningful impacts in the lives of others." This directly aligns with the Profile of the SC graduate.
This year, students will complete their Digital Citizenship lessons beginning Nov 15th. See below for information on how to access lessons within the Nearpod District Library.
