~~ GET INVOLVED IN OUR LDR TEAMS! ~~
AFJROTC Unit SC-20063 started at Pendleton High school in 2006 with a handful of seniors. 19 years later, with almost 90 cadets, our program is still the close-knit group it started as. AFJROTC stands for "Air Force Junior Reserve Officer Training Corps". Our program is designed to help cadets become better citizens and leaders. AFJROTC does not recruit high school students for military service; there is no military commitment associated with the program. AFJROTC is a fun, energetic program that offers a wide variety of extracurricular activities.
Unit SC-20063 is a cadet-led program. With instructor oversight and guidance cadets lead the corps. Instructors teach all academics in classes and serve as coaches for all of the teams ensuring safety and keeping a productive environment. Other Corps functions are undertaken by the Cadet Staff.
Cadets currently in an AFJROTC class at Pendleton High School are required to wear an Air Force uniform once a week on Tuesday for a grade. Part of the grade is adherence to Air Force JROTC uniform and grooming standards that can be found in the SC-20063 Cadet Guide. In class, cadets get lessons in Aerospace Science and Leadership, learn drill, teamwork and orienteering, and participate in campus clean up. Cadets also participate in wellness/ physical fitness activities once a week. AFJROTC counts as a Physical Education (PE) credit at PHS.
Administrative Staff - The highest 4 cadets in the Corps' Chain of Command that serve as the managers of all other staff. Admin Staff conduct staff meetings and oversee Corps events. They report to the Corps Commander. The Corps Commander reports directly to the AFJROTC Instructors.

As an AFJROTC unit, we believe in a cadet-led approach to our mission. Each year, our cadet staff collaborates to develop and define our unit goals, which serve as a roadmap for the corps's growth and success. By putting this responsibility in the hands of our cadets, we foster leadership, ownership, and strategic thinking. These goals are specific, measurable targets that extend beyond individual performance, focusing on our collective impact within the corps, the school, and the wider community. As a corps, we endeavor to meet and exceed these standards through diligent effort and teamwork, fostering a sense of shared responsibility and accomplishment among all cadets. By working together to achieve these objectives, we strengthen our leadership skills, dedication to service, and overall effectiveness as a unit.
