The ACT and Test Prep
What is the ACT? Why is it SO important? What can I do to be ready?
The ACT is a standardized test that measures skills in five core areas: English, math, reading, science, and (optionally) writing. Students take the ACT so they can submit their scores to colleges as part of the college application process. The ACT measures a high school student's readiness for college and provides colleges with a common data point that can be used to compare all applicants.
In Alabama, all students take the ACT on a school-day in the spring of the 11th grade year. To take the test any other time, visit www.actstudent.org to register. Come by the Guidance Office if you have registration questions. ACT account creation and test registration directions HERE
