Happy DNA Day!
Today marks the 62nd anniversary of the description of the double-helix structure DNA by James D. Watson and Francis H.C. Crick, considered by many to be one of the most significant scientific discoveries of the 20th Century.
In spite of the fact that these bills only established DNA Day for that day only, and not for a recurring holiday or commemoration, DNA Day has continued to be acknowledged every year since.
These same bills established April of 2003 as ‘Human Genome Month in recognition of the "essential completion" of the sequencing of human genome by the International Human Genome Sequencing Consortium.
In recognition of DNA Day, some of AncestryDNA and Family Tree DNA are offering discounts on their DNA test kits (see 20% Off AncestryDNA Until 27 April at 11:59 PM ET and Family Tree DNA Offering Discount in Honor of DNA DAY for more details).
Now would be a great time to use DNA evidence to support or correct your research, and with years of experience in genetic genealogy, Ancestors & Cousins can help.
