Lucid Theater produces original plays with a broad range of subjects and styles. We center ideas and emotions to evoke thoughtful reflection, courageous choices, and compassion. Our goal is to fight against numbness and awaken our audiences to the richness and depth of emotional experience.

Founding Members:
Artistic Director Amy Crider founded Continuous Dream and Lucid Theater. An award-winning playwright and novelist, she has been published by the University of New Orleans Press and Theatrical Rights Worldwide. Her holiday column about A Christmas Carol was published in the Chicago Tribune and subsequently syndicated to twenty other newspapers. Her website with details about her career is here.
Pete Blatchford and Linsey Summers were featured in our inaugural production, Leda, in 2017. They starred in the two-hander Metadata in 2021. Linsey starred as Maud Gonne in our podcast episode Poet and Warrior. Pete will be starring as HG Wells in Wells and Welles in 2024.
Jeff Broitman was featured in Leda. He starred in the one-man show Charlie Johnson Reads all of Proust in 2019, and starred as William Butler Yeats in our podcast episode Poet and Warrior. He starred in the two-hander A Legacy at Rhino Fest in 2023.
In December 2024 to January 2025, he starred in the one-man show The Day After.
Baird Brutscher and Erin Caswell have been featured in numerous episodes of our podcast, including Summer Comedies and the miniseries The Gift of Prophecy. They also starred with Pete Blatchford and Linsey Summers in our Yippie Fest show Lean Scenes.
