Established in 2008, the Jefferson-Valle Media Center is dedicated to the bicultural values upheld by the American School of Tegucigalpa. The Media Center was named for both Thomas Jefferson and José Cecilio del Valle, who both famously supported and advocated for the fine arts.

The Jefferson-Valle Media Center serves the community of the American School of Tegucigalpa through two distinct library branches: one for preschool and elementary school students, and one for middle and high school students. Along with students, faculty, staff members and AST alumni and parents are all welcome to check out materials from either library.

Hours of Operation

The Middle/High School Branch is open from 7:00am-3:30pm on school days.

The Preschool/Elementary School branch is open both before and after school. Please contact the branch librarian or assistant for updated hours of operation.

Mission Statement

The Jefferson-Valle Media Center strives to provide and preserve access to high-quality informational materials that support the school’s curriculum, independent research and a love of recreational reading.
