Everybody's brain works differently. We all have strategies that work for us, but it's important to remember that what works for Ms. Fariha may not work for you - and that's okay! Here are a few mindfulness strategies to get you thinking about how your mind and body works.
Use your finger to trace the fingers on your opposite hand.
Inhale as you go up your finger and exhale as you go down your finger.
Close your eyes if you feel comfortable doing so. Repeat for all 5 fingers.
Ask yourself: how do you feel? Where did your mind wander to while taking deep breaths? Was this helpful?
Get some fresh air!
Grounding helps us bring our focus back to the present and to recognize what we are feeling in the moment.
Walk through your yard and try to find an item for each of your senses.
