Beloved Fraters and Sorores,
What is the Ego, and how do we overcome it? Many of us seem to agree that the Ego is that often selfish part of our selves, limited to the objective world that keeps us focused and grounded in the “real world.”
But what is real? Only that which we realize. So why do we need to overcome the Ego? The Ego may in fact be a very useful tool of our objective consciousness. But if the Ego can help us remain steady in the objective world, we might also remember that we experience the objective world through a very small, a very limited portion of the entire spectrum of consciousness.
Shifting our consciousness to encompass the remaining, much larger part of this spectrum may allow us a much broader experience. This broader experience is what study in the Rosicrucian Order gives us.
But do we really need to overcome the Ego to obtain this larger experience? Perhaps we simply need to step back a little, take a broader view of what is available, or what is possible.
What would happen if we balanced the time we focus on each aspect of consciousness? Each part of consciousness may be equally important, even the objective consciousness, and the Ego.
With all good wishes for Peace Profound, I am
