Greetings, Fratres and Sorores, and welcome to RC year 3371!
It was my honor and pleasure to be installed as Master of Mountain Rose Pronaos on March 18, 2018. As I reflect upon the Service that this office will enable me to perform, I am drawn back to considering our legacy as modern Rosicrucians.
According to the Fama Fraternitatis, there were eight who began the Fraternity of the Rosie Cross in 17th century Europe. These eight went to different countries of the world after having made an agreement.
“Their agreement was this:
The Fama goes on to say: “Every year they assembled together with joy, and made a full resolution of that which they had done; there must certainly have been great pleasure, to hear truly and without invention related and rehearsed all the Wonders which God hath poured out here and there through the World.”
To serve anonymously, and to apprehend the glory of creation... Is this not the essence of what we learn? Our lessons prepare us for attunement with the Cosmic, teach us how to listen to the small voice within, and encourage us to master our lives. But to what purpose? Our eventual enlightenment and return to our Cosmic origin seems hollow if we achieve this end alone. The Principles are beautiful in that they are designed to be applied in service, and through this we also evolve in our consciousness and awareness. It seems obvious and simple that we are meant to help our sisters and brothers along the way. But to actually do this is maybe not so obvious and simple. It is easy to become lost in the challenges we face each day to live our lives, and to become entrapped by the allure of material reality. Perhaps this is why the brethren assembled periodically: to help each other remember their purpose, and to share their experiences as messages of encouragement.
In the spirit of the Fama, I would like to invite you to attend events at your local affiliated body, a “house S. Spiritus”. You will find there people of like mind and soul, and have the chance to share in your mutual experiences as Rosicrucians, and perhaps to regenerate a bit as you spend some time immersed in the egregore of our Order. I look forward to sharing some time with you!
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Bill Hallett

Dearest Fraters & Sorores,
It seems I was needed here for two years and not one. We have seen growth in our membership with the addition of several new dynamic individuals.
It has been an exciting and enlightening year. I was able to spend two weeks with our venerable Grand Master Julie Scott and Soror Terry on a bus through southern France. I had some more than competent and inspiring fraters stand in for me while I was gone. Twice convocation was snowed out, and twice I have seen the temple filled to capacity.
This coming year looks to be very busy and productive. I look forward to the leadership of our new officers. I look forward to working on recent plans discussed at our last business meeting. I look forward to listening the Master’s discourse while I quietly contemplate the candles on the altar.
Thank you all for being part of it. From all points of the triangle,
Sincerely and Fraternally,
Ed Hanson
