Fall 2016
Greetings Brothers and Sisters,
My Brothers and Sisters, Fraters and Sorores; Is mankind undergoing a shift in Cosmic energy that is bringing great challenges into our lives? There are those out there who say the Cosmic forces and intelligences are forcing mankind to undergo a last spiritual evolution toward perfection and that these are bringing major adjustments to our normal world living. I would like to believe this but, being a walking question mark, I will reserve judgement.
There is no doubt that society is undergoing an upheaval and that the world is in a pretty sad state and this is percolating down to our individual lives.
So, what do we do when faced with life’s challenges? We humans, as a species, are known to be very adaptable and to be able to change our lives to cope with different circumstances. In our modern society this means that we go after a solution to our challenges by applying our education, our tools, our technology to “bend” nature to our will. We build bridges over canyons, we build booster rockets to get us into space, we find cures for diseases. Okay, that is fine for the big picture, but what about our individual life challenges? When we are out of work we try to find new employment. When we lose friends, we find new ones. When we get sick we go to the doctor. In other words, we use whatever resources we have available to overcome our challenges.
We all know that life doesn’t always throw problems at us that are solvable. Sometimes life events are just too radical and too “earth shattering” to be handled by normal problem solving methods. War, famine, disease and such just have to be endured and survival attained by any method we can come up with. The death of a loved one can rattle the very foundations of one’s life. What do we do when life throws us something more than we can handle? There is only one solution to these insoluble problems – turn to our spiritual source.
We all spend part of our mystical life sending out blessings to all humanity. The Council of Solace ritual practiced in AMORC affiliated bodies radiates positive energy to all mankind alleviating suffering, hate, disease, war, and general negative thinking. We do the same in our sanctums and oratories. The mental image I use in this practice is of a person looking to the heavens and connecting with the God of his or her heart. If each person undergoing problems beyond his control would just surrender to the will of God and seek His guidance, inner peace would ensue and the events of this person’s life, although painful, would be bearable.
Perhaps this is an oversimplification, but we know that this universe was created by and operates through Divinity. The spiritual realm is the only actuality behind creation and this physical world is but a “dream” of God. So, where else can we look but to our Creator when we are challenged by life?
In all circumstances, but especially in times of trial, there is but one recourse for solace. The words I leave you with when facing life, in all circumstances, are “Go to your source.”
May you ever dwell in the Eternal Light of Divine Wisdom!
