Master’s Message

Dear Fratres and Sorores,

The world today seems to be descending into chaos. Everywhere you turn, there are reports of war, anger, fear, hunger, brutality, and death. But stop for a minute and think about it. These things have been occurring for thousands of years. Today we have near instant communication, so we hear about them almost as soon as they happen, rather than weeks, months, or decades later, as happened in the past.

A man named Steven Pinker is claiming we now live in the most peaceful period of human history. He describes processes of pacification (from hunter-gatherers to settled civilizations), consolidation of small kingdoms and duchies into large political entities with centralized governments and economies, pursuit of knowledge from the Persians, democracy from the Greeks, imposition of law and order from the Roman Empire), Enlightenment, which can also be called a Humanitarian Revolution (of which Rosicrucians were prominent contributors), the introduction of interpersonal empathy (surprisingly, through the invention of the literary novel). And now, instant global communication is bringing the whole of humanity to wakefulness.

And behind all of this, Rosicrucians and their forbearers have been working quietly, perfecting themselves, pursuing inner knowledge, while providing light for those seeking knowledge and a better understanding of themselves, their world, and their relationship to the spiritual world, to find a way out of darkness. A way back to Balance and Harmony, and a way of Love.

Water wears down mountains

It is also the softest

water dissolves almost anything

and it remembers everything
