Greetings Fratres, Sorores and Friends!
A few weeks ago Master Bill Bacher at Mountain Rose Pronaos gave the discourse written by Grand Master Julie Scott entitled, “Reflections on the Creed of Peace”. In the discussion that followed there were many lively comments. Some comments seemed even judgemental of others. In other cases, I have observed people making assuming comments to others, and other feeling that they are being judges. This is not necessarily recent behaviour, but rather, that which has been observed over the years.
Also, it is easy to judge those others as, well, several negative terms come to mind but will not be expressed here. I too have struggled with this. At one time I fell into the angry and embittered masses that felt that great crimes against humanity are being committed. Don’t get me wrong, I still feel that great injustices exist, but I have pulled away from those that are dwelling in the lower vibrational forces.
In The Kyballion, it is taught that the pendulum swings, for that is it’s purpose. One can choose to ride the pendulum through the highs, lows and opposites that it presents, or one can choose to rise above the pendulum, such that it no longer influences, but instead can be observed. Is this not a benefit of feeling oneness with the Master Within and Cosmic Consciousness? Is this not a way in which psychic projection can be utilized - for the very observation of these events that dwell in the path of the pendulum to see them for what they truly are?
My wife, Soror Ronda, taught our boys one key concept about judgement, “You have one finger pointing away, and three fingers pointing back. Better make sure that those pointing back aren’t going to get you into trouble.” Aside from the humorous attempts by them to point at somebody without pointing back at them, I feel it was an instrumental teaching about judgement, and corresponds well with the teaching of the Master Jesus in Matthew 7:1-5:
7:1 “Do not judge, or you too will be judged. 2 For in the same way you judge others, you will be judged, and with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.
3 “Why do you look at the speck of sawdust in your brother’s eye and pay no attention to the plank in your own eye? 4 How can you ask to your brother, ‘Let me take the speck out of your eye,’ when all the time there is a plank in your own eye? 5 You hypocrite, first take the plank out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
The important idea of the Master’s teaching is not to judge, but rather, to “Know Thyself!” If you do not know from whence your opinions originate - from others, from your lower energy centers, or even from your higher energy centers, then how can you truly judge others for their opinions? Also, what if reincarnation is involved? We are taught that we are advancing as we reincarnate. And no, DO NOT use this to give an air of authority or much worse, superiority, over anybody. Always look at your hand to count fingers and what direction they are indicating. Perhaps the person you are condemning is exactly perfect for their purpose this incarnation?
Remember the discourse first mentioned? Soror Kathy asked a poignant question to the effect of “What is the Order’s position on serving in the military?” I decided to put forth this question to the Grand Master, to which she replied, “The Order’s position on military service is that each person should do what their conscience guides them to do.” This succinctly reiterates what I have been writing about, for the conscience is an evolutionary result of seeking knowledge and wisdom throughout many incarnations. If one feels it in their conscience that they are to serve humanity through military service, who are we to judge them in any way?
In today’s society, great effort is given to make sure that there is some “other” person or group to place the blame upon. The infamous “THEY” that is the causal agent of all that goes wrong. Some listen to radio shows or read websites that strongly promote this otherness. Remember, divided we fall. Divided is not our true nature - our true nature is unity. Those programs and websites are in direct opposition to our true nature! They energetically affect you adversely.
I ask all that read this message to take a moment, whether it be in your sanctum or some other place of meditation, to ponder the ideas expressed by Grand Master Julie Scott and Master Jesus, reflect upon communications (both verbal and non-verbal) we have engaged in, and ask yourself, have you a plank within your eye? For as Regional Monitor Bob has often pointed out, all meetings and engagements are workshops, and that none of us are Masters for if we were we would not be here.
I would like to close with another quote from the Master Jesus. “If you forgive the sins of any, they are forgiven; if you retain the sins of any, they are retained.” (John 20:23)
