Ian was the costliest weather disaster on record in the state, consuming 150 innocent lives and it wreaked havoc on the city of Fort Myers. It destroyed homes, businesses, cars, and most importantly, it destroyed family memories. Pictures were waterlogged, warped, and the moments captured were being lost. Hundreds of families in the Fort Myers area were devastated.Â
A photographer from Florida sends out a call for residents with damaged pictures to give them all to her, she's going to fix all the water damage free of charge. She documened the process online, and made national news, specifically in the "America Strong" segment on ABC News. Thousands of people saw it, one in particular being the photography teacher at Amity Regional High School. She reached out and offered her students to help Krista in the restoration process, and she agreed.
