If you are on-campus or in Massachusetts, the Counseling Center offers urgent mental health care from 9:00am-4:00pm by calling the Counseling Center at 413-542-2354. If the office is closed, you will be able to speak with a licensed mental health counselor by phone.

In the event of an immediate, life-threatening emergency on campus, call Amherst College Police emergency line at 413-542-2111. For students off-campus or out-of-state, call 9-1-1.

Peer Resources: 

Peer Advocates of Sexual Respect
Peer Advocates of Sexual Respect are students who have received intensive training and on-going supervision to act as a resource referral group for students who are in need of emotional support.

The Student Health Educators are a group of Amherst Students sponsored by health services that are interested and actively addressing health issues on campus. They deal with a wide range of topics: sexual and reproductive health, mental health, body image/eating disorders, alcohol/drugs, as well as many other general health topics.
