The Northwest Meeting on Dynamical Systems and Control (NMDSC) emerged from a research-driven academic initiative with the long-term objective of strengthening scientific collaboration in dynamical systems, control theory, and applied mathematics in Mexico and beyond.
Its origins date back to the period 2019–2022, when a series of specialized one-day workshops was conceived within the framework of the Basic Science research project “Nonlinear Analysis for Fractional Difference Equation Systems,” funded by the Ministry of Science, Humanities, Technology and Innovation of Mexico (SECIHTI, formerly CONACYT). The primary goal of these workshops was to disseminate the scientific results generated by the research group on Dynamical Systems and Control at the Centre for Computational and Mathematical Modeling, Analysis and Applications of the Tijuana Technological Institute, in collaboration with researchers from leading national institutions, including the Metropolitan Autonomous University (Iztapalapa), the Iberoamerican University (Mexico City), the University of Sonora (Hermosillo), CITEDI-IPN, and IPICYT.
Although the original workshop series was interrupted by the global SARS-CoV-2 health emergency, the vision behind the initiative remained firmly established. In 2023, the project was reactivated and strategically transformed into an international academic conference under the name Meeting on Dynamical Systems and Control, marking a significant transition from a research dissemination activity to a broader scientific forum. The 2024 edition consolidated this transformation, expanding participation and strengthening institutional collaboration with the support of the Mexican Association of Dynamical Systems and Complexity (AMESDYC).
In 2025, the conference adopted its current name, Northwest Meeting on Dynamical Systems and Control (NMDSC), reflecting its regional identity and its growing international projection. Organized by AMESDYC and supported by SECIHTI, in collaboration with CETYS University, Campus Tijuana, the event marked a new phase of institutional consolidation and academic expansion.
Today, NMDSC stands as a developing international platform that promotes high-level scientific exchange, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the dissemination of cutting-edge research in dynamical systems, control, complexity, and mathematical modeling. With each edition, the conference continues to strengthen its academic reputation, expand its network of participating institutions, and position itself as a reference meeting in the Northwest region and the broader international scientific community.
