Teaching at Amesbury Middle School since 2012
I grew up here in Amesbury and still live here in town! I actually went to Amesbury Public Schools, so I am VERY familiar with the Middle School ; ) My husband and daughters also have attended Amesbury Public Schools, and I am fortunate to have my husband as a partner teaching 8th grade civics here at AMS!
I received my BA in Political Science from Merrimack College (Go Warriors!) I went on to receive my MA in Political Science from American University in Washington, DC. After working for years in government, I went back to school and received an M.Ed from Lesley University.
I left the federal government in 2011 and have been teaching at AMS since 2012 in grades 5 and 6, and recently moved to the 8th grade, where I LOVE teaching civics!
Since I was a child, I have always enjoyed traveling and meeting new people from all walks of life. Needless to say, this year has made me have a greater appreciation for my home and hometown! We are so fortunate to live in a small city like Amesbury, with a vibrant downtown and open space to enjoy.
I also love to cook, especially trying out different international cuisine. I have spent a lot of time trying out recipes from around the world, to satisfy my love of travel. I think my family has enjoyed it...?
Because I love to cook and bake, I also like to run, walk, ski and generally be outside exploring with my family and our dog, Kirk.
I am a voracious reader and particularly enjoy non-fiction, historical fiction, mysteries, and pretty much anything that my kids and students are reading. If you have a favorite book, let me know!
