There is an app or tool that can fit almost any situation you have in the classroom but we have to look at the purpose of the tool and the learning objective. The list below is just a general list of possible tech tools you could use in the classroom but make sure you have a designed purpose in mind before selecting a tool. If you need any help, please reach out to your Tech Coach (MS or HS) or TTL (Elem.), as well as your Instructional Coaches.
You can also look over SAMR and TPACK to gauge your use of tool but there are also other frameworks or tools that we can be using to ensure we are using technology effectively in our learning environments.
Below you will find some of the the top digital learning tools, that are either being used heavily in the district or are highly suggested tools. You can find all of the Google Apps on a separate page since they are not included below but are very effective digital tools to use in the classroom. Below that is a table where you can use the categories to find a tool to fit your need.
Flipgrid
Flipgrid is a very versatile tool that uses short video segments for student feedback, class discussions, formative assessment, guest speakers, and more.
Google Tour Builder
This is an app that allows you to create guided tours using Google Earth. You can include text or other resources along with the locations to show things such as a timeline of events or important locations related to something you are focused on.
Book Creator
Book Creator allows you to create a digital book for free. This is an easy way to make and share creative, interactive books digitally.
Google Jamboard
Google Jamboard is a poweful collaboration tool that can be accessed in any Chrome browser or as a separate app on our Chromebooks. You can collaborate using a digital space similar to having a digital whiteboard in the cloud.
Snap&Read
Snap&Read is a tool that is purchased for every student and teacher in the district. It is at it's heart a powerful text to speech tool but you can also use it to translate, take notes on a digital text, or even track resources for a research project.
Seesaw
Seesaw is a versatile tool that can be used for student engagement, student digital learning portfolios, parent engagement, and more.
