Inquiry Statement: How can movement, intuition, and destruction be used as tools to uncover meaning and shape a more resolved abstract artwork?
I feel like connect to this statment by creating meaning in my artwork and connecting to a new art style. Movment in my painting was the differnt varying weight lines of chalk that would change. The destruction was the black chalk contrasting to the color of my painting.

What speaks to me about this artwork is mainly how the colors are combined. I love the form and the beauty of this painting and it really screams abstract art too me. The varying line weight changes with colors, making it look like the petals of a flower. It shows how lines can create an illusion from far away but close up it looks like water color and lines.
Section 3: Investigate
Visual evidence of material tests, alternate compositions, sketches.
This was my rough draft, or first draft. It wasnt a sketch but a base to start filling in the white. The ombre green and white was a start to draw more lines. The dots really filled in the empty space but not well enough. This draft helped me see what to fill in, what to layer, or what to make.

The reason behind this work was to show how different shapes and colors contrast eachother.

What I enjoyed about this project was to really learn how to express myself through abstract art. Some challenges that I found was mainly trying to find ways to contrast color to my work. An advantage was that it was easy to throw color in the blank white space. My artwork aligns with the inquiry question because through different tools, I was able to create my artwork.
