Multiple Member Donations to Penang General Hospital
Earlier today, multiple AMCHAM member companies paid a visit to Penang General Hospital. Collectively, they were able to generously contribute the following supplies and funds to the hospital:
Intel: RM 387,000 worth of medical equipment including feeding pumps, stethoscopes, ventilators, patient monitors, N95 masks and Nitrile gloves
Jabil: RM 60,000 worth of medical PPE and ventilators
Keysight Technologies: 20,00 pcs face shields & RM20,000 for Penang Science Cluster to produce DIY Face Shields for frontliners
Micron Foundation: RM 100,000 worth of 5 bedside monitors
Motorola Solutions: RM25,000 worth of 1,000pcs PE Coated Isolation Gowns

State ensures frontliners have adequate protective gear
The Penang government will ensure that hospitals and government clinics in the state have adequate personal protective equipment (PPE) supply, says Chief Minister Chow Kon Yeow. This assurance was made by Chow in his daily message via Facebook live on his FB page today, following a report by the Health Ministry director general Datuk Dr Noor Hisham Abdullah on April 13 that they were facing shortage of PPEs.

Intel Malaysia donated a sum of RM 250,000 to go towards Tabung Covid-19 Penang. Additionally, Intel contributed 2 patient monitors to Hospital Sultanah Bahiyah (Alor Setar General Hospital)

Jabil donated Rm 49,000 towards our My AmCham Cares initiative. These funds were for the benefit of purchasing covid-19 test kits, raw materials needed for medical face shields and an early stage patient ventilator.

Keysight Technologies has kindly contributed RM215,000 towards the My AmCham Cares initiative. This contribution will go towards purchasing ventilators, covid-19 testing kits and hereafter, towards our nation's concerted efforts in fighting covid19. 7/04/2020: Hard disk drive manufacturer and data storage company Western Digital Malaysia donated personal protective equipment (PPE) worth RM2 million today to aid the government in combating the Covid-19 outbreak.

THIS year, World Health Day falls during a particularly solemn time, as we grapple with the worst pandemic in 100 years. Each day brings sobering news of tragedy and heartache. At the same time, the crisis has demonstrated the compassion and perseverance of our health professionals, and their heroic willingness to make personal sacrifices for the protection of our communities.
In 2020, World Health Day specifically honours and celebrates those on the front lines for keeping us healthy and safe, specifically nurses, and I join in paying tribute to them and their selfless commitment to protect us all.

Micron Foundation donates RM2.6m to support Malaysia’s frontliners, needy and charities
Micron Technology, Inc today announced a RM2.6-million donation from its Micron Foundation Covid-19 Relief Fund to support the immediate and future needs of Malaysians impacted by the health crisis.
According to a statement released today, Malaysia is one of five countries prioritised to receive grants from the foundation’s global relief fund.

Intel Malaysia has committed to donate over RM2 million to assist healthcare professionals combat the Covid-19 pandemic in the country.

A huge thank you to our member companies that generously donated medical supplies which will be distributed to various healthcare facilities in Malaysia.
