Winner First Amateo AwardOn Thursday the 11th of May 2018, the Op Roet theatre foundation received the first European Amateo Award in Ljubljana for their performance of Ed van Hoorn FucktheSystem. The jury of the Amateo Award was impressed with the artistic and meaningful impact of the performance. Ed van Hoorn FtS was one of 42 cultural projects that were nominated for the prize, from 16 European countries.
The performance of Ed van Hoorn FtS has shown what such encounters between newcomers and inhabitants can yield. A way to confront and curtail biases, and a way to stimulate social integration. The performance showed how important it is to listen and share stories with each other, and that despite, or thanks to, the cultural differences valuable and special relationships can form.

Babette UlmerLiving in Esslingen (near Stuttgart), Germany, studied Ethnology, prehistorical anthropology andprehistoric archeology at the University in Tübingen and management sciences at the UniversityKrems/Austria. Today she is working as freelancer creating and managing different cultural and socialprojects. Her main topics and interests are: non-profit inter- and transcultural theatre- andmusicproductions mainly for young adults.Unpaid she is engaging for the theatreproject Stage Divers(e) Forum für JugendTheaterKultur e.V. asartistic director, thereby member of the speakers‘ board of the network for culture, Esslingen andspeaker of the working group „children and youth theatre“ of the Association Bund deutscherAmateurtheater e.V., Berlin. Also she is engaged as member of the advisory artistic council at theassociation Landesverband Amateurtheater Baden-Württemberg e.V.

Amateo ATP Pioneer Projects in Novi Sad
During the 30-minute session delivered by the Pioneer Projects team of Arts Take Part, the team members will inform you about their work to date, including finding a definition for Pioneer projects in the Arts Take Part context; the introduction of the Pioneer project grants; and the concept of CONNECT: a moment to meet each other, get inspired, share experiences and make new concepts.The second part of the session is for the representatives of the three awarded projects, who will introduce their project to the audience. The session will conclude with a short discussion with participants and the audience about how to share the progress of these projects; what information, knowledge is needed; and what would inspire you to follow these projects?
